Long ago in a forest far away, there was a tiger that had no stripes. His name was Stripes. This was a serious problem! He didn’t have stripes. The tiger finally got out of his house. He didn’t make a good choice. When he almost gave up he said, "I’m going to go find a shady spot," but he didn’t know that sticky maple sap was on the tree. He leaned up against it and stripes of sticky maple sap stuck on his coat. He was thirsty, so he went to a river. And then Stripes looked in the water. He had stripes! Stripes went to his friends' house and told them how he got his stripes. They thought that it was amazing! So they tried it. From that day on tigers had stripes.
