     The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team pulled out another victory last night sending their record to 9-0.  The Lady Cubs struggled early in the game unable to find their shooting rhythm as well as finding themselves out of position on defense and in early foul trouble.  Second half a new team hit the floor with solid position defense allowing them to nab 17 steals.  Although the outside shooting still remained cold in the second half, the girls took a different approach and drove strong to the basket giving them 15 opportunities at the freethrow line.  Delanie Hill lead the team in the scoring column with 18 including a strong showing at the line hitting 10 out of 11 shots.  Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine played one of her best games of the season with aggressive play on both ends finishing with 5 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Anjie Amin had 4 points while Riley Mayo and Allison Barnard each put in 3 points.  Cami Cochrane, Makenna Bertsch, and Karissa Ratliff had 2 points a piece and were a vital trio in the tenacious defense that sparked the eventual 39-15 win over Clark Pleasant.  Way to stay strong ladies.  Next up for the Lady Cubs is conference foe Martinsville East here at home on Saturday morning.  Good luck ladies!

     Congratulations to the 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team as they continue to remain unbeaten.  The Lady Cubs are now 8-0 defeating county rival Indian Creek last night with a score of 50-9.  Delanie Hill played extremely well putting in 19 points and 8 steals despite sitting out 2 entire quarters.  Anjie Amin also had a nice game with 10 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds.  Cami Cochrane played only 3 quarters, but utilized her time putting in 6 points, grabbed 5 steals, dished 2 assists, and 4 had rebounds.  Riley Mayo battled hard on the boards grabbing a game high 11 rebounds to go with her 5 points and 2 steals.  Makenna Bertsch played hard and had 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals.  Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine played well on defense as well as put in 3 points and pulling down 5 rebounds.  MaKenzie Compton came off the bench to play some quality defense nabbing 3 steals and a rebound to go with her 2 points.  Karissa Ratliff rounded out the scoring column with 1 point to go with her 4 rebounds and 3 steals.  Kendal Byrne and Allison Barnard joined in the action to help pace the Lady Cubs.  The Lady Cubs play tonight against county rival Clark Pleasant here at home.  Good luck ladies!  Play hard!

    

 

 

      The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team improved to 7-0 last night by defeating conference rival Martinsville West 59-16. The game saw 14 different girls get action as the team proved too much for the Artesians. Delanie Hill continues to be aggressive to the hoop putting in 21 points to lead the Lady Cubs, including going an impressive 6 for 6 at the freethrow line and grabbing 6 rebounds. The "old" Allison Barnard was back playing strong with 9 points and 8 boards. Anjie Amin has found a nice shooting rhythm the past couple of games knocking down quality shots with 8 points to go along with her 3 assists and 3 steals. Cami Cochrane looked impressive with her stroke as well putting in 5 points to go with her 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Kylie "Little Burdie" Burdine and Riley Mayo each had 4 points and a combined 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. Makenna Bertsch also had 4 points, and had some awesome passes for 5 assists. Karissa Ratliff played on a few minutes, but still played well with 3 points and 3 steals. Katie Crump finished up the scoring column with 1 point. Great job ladies! Next up for the Lady Cubs is back to back games Monday and Tuesday against county rivals Indian Creek and Whiteland. Good luck ladies...play hard!

    

 

 

     The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team kept their streak alive moving 6-0 by defeating Southport last night 45-8.  The Lady Cubs had a sluggish first half, but stepped it up in the second.  Delanie Hill led the team with 17 points and 5 steals.  Anjie Amin came off the bench to put in 7 points along with 7 steals.  Karissa Ratliff, Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine, and Riley Mayo each contributed 4 points.  Karissa also led the team in the steals category with 9.  Tiffany Ford, Katie Crump, Makenna Bertsch, and Cami Cochrane had 2 points each.  Allison Barnard had 1 point and 4 rebounds.  Next up for the Lady Cubs is conference rival Martinsville West here at home on Thursday.  Good luck ladies!

 

 

 

      The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team took their record to 5-0 by defeating county rival Center Grove North last night 43-35.  The Lady Cubs played well as a team with highlights of great passing, defense, and rebounding.  Delanie Hill led the team with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Karissa Ratliff played very well putting pressure on the Trojan's number one girl.  She also had quite an offensive night taking it to the hoop scoring 10 points to go with her 8 rebounds and 3 steals.  Allison Barnard put in 6 points and pulled down 11 boards.  Cami Cochrane put on a sweet display of passing dishing out 4 assists to go with her 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine put in 4 points of her own and played some great help side defense nearing drawing a charge at a crucial time in the game.  Riley Mayo stepped up her rebounding game grabbing 5 along with doing a great job handling the ball under pressure in the waning minutes.  Anjie Amin and Makenna Bertsch put in big minutes playing hard with tenacious "D" and ball handling savvy.  Congratulations ladies on a super impressive win!  Next up for the Lady Cubs is Southport here at home next Tuesday.

 

     The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team rolled on to another impressive victory last night against conference foe Decatur Central with a margin of 57-8. Leading all scorers was Riley Mayo with 15 points including going 3 for 3 at the freethrow line. Delanie Hill put in another double double with 12 points and 10 steals. Anjie Amin was hot from the field putting in 9 points while playing some impressive defense. Allison Barnard stepped up to the challenge and grabbed 11 rebounds to go with her 7 points. Tiffany Ford came in during the 4th quarter and put in 4 points. Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine, Cami Cochrane, Makenna Bertsch, Katie Crump, and Karissa Ratliff all had 2 points a piece to balance out the effort. Great win ladies! Tonight's game against county rival Central Grove North should be a good one, so come out and support your Lady Cubs! Good luck ladies!

    

     The 7th grade Lady Cubs A basketball team moved to 3-0 last night with a lopsided victory over county rival Center Grove Central with a score of 39-8.  Despite having 11 first half turnovers, the Lady Cubs were able to lay on super aggressive defense holding
the Trojans scoreless until late in the 3rd quarter where the opposing team only hit one basket.  Leading the charge on the offensive end was Delanie Hill with 15 points and 2 assists.  Makenna Bertsch put in 8 points, dished out 3 assists, grabbed 3 steals, and pulled down 3 rebounds.  Anjie Amin and Allison Barnard both put in 6 points and snatched 2 rebounds each.  Kylie "Little Birdie" Burdine played well and put in 3 points and had 3 rebounds.  Karissa Ratliff finished out the scoring column with 1 point, but was a defensive highlight holding their best player to 1 basket and gobbling up 7 steals.  Cami Cochrane, Katie Crump, Tiffany Ford, and Kendal Byrne all played hard to help boost the Lady Cubs to the impressive victory.  Next up for the Lady Cubs is conference rival Decatur Central next Wednesday at their place.  Good luck Lady Cubs!  Keep working hard!

 

 

     Congratulations to the 7th Grade Lady Cubs A basketball team on capturing their second win of the season sending their record to 2-0. In a sloppy game that saw many turn overs, fouls, and missed opportunities, the Lady Cubs finally took their first lead of the game in just under 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Lady Cubs found their rhythm converting on some key freethrows and stepping up to play some sticky defense. Allison Barnard stood out in the final few minutes coming up with a huge block, rebounds, and freethrows to put the Lady Cubs up by 2 with 5 seconds remaining. Allison finished the game with 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block. Delanie Hill had a double double putting in a team high 13 points and nabbing 10 steals. Makenna Bertsch had 4 points and 4 steals before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. Cami Cochrane and Karissa Ratliff each had 3 points apiece. Kylie "little birdie" Burdine played some tough defense and grabbed some big boards late in the game with a team high 6. Anjie Amin was all over the court with pressure defense helping to force turnovers and sparking her team to a comeback. Rylie Mayo played hard before succumbing to an injury right before half time. We wish her a quick recovery, as we will need everyone healthy and ready for our next game against a tough county rival Center Grove North next Wednesday. Way to finish strong! Good luck ladies!

 

The 7th grade Lady Cubs A Basketball team picked up their first victory with the season opener against Columbus Central. The Lady Cubs defeated the Chargers 49-24. Delanie Hill came to play putting in a game high 20 points to go with her 8 steals. Riley Mayo scored 7 points and pulled down a team high 5 rebounds. Kendal Byrne came in off the bench and sunk 2 baskets and a freethrow for 5 points. Anjie Amin and Kylie "little birdie" Burdine had 4 points each. Allison Barnard had 3 points and 2 rebounds. Cami Cochrane, Makenna Bertsch, and Karissa Ratliff finished out the balanced scoring attack with a bucket a piece. Congratulations Lady Cubs on an impressive victory! Next up for the Lady Cubs is conference rival Plainfield at their place on Thursday.
